Question :
I read somewhere that it is possible to install the latest version of OSX 10.10 Yosemite on my Mac, even though the official installer refuses to install.
This is how to install Mac OS X 10.11 'El Capitan' on an unsupported Mac Pro. In this video, I use a Mac Pro 1,1 (that has been flashed to 2,1 firmware).
- I've tried el capitan which has a geekbench score of 2872 in single core and 5354 in multi-core(but it is not compatible with many plugins or it is old versions of plugins). Then i've tried high sierra and the scores went downhill with only 562 in single-core and 1241 in.
- Personally, my older unsupported Macs are still running Snow Leopard, Mavericks, El Capitan, and Sierra, and only the latest machines will run Mojave for my particular setup, but to each their own, and it’s undoubtedly cool that Dosdude has consistently come up with utilities like this to get various versions of Mac OS system software running.
- New video here for the final release: is how to install macOS Sierra 10.12 Developer Preview on an Unsupporte.
Can you give me any directions ?
Answer :
Installing newer versions of OSX on slightly older Macs that do not meet the official system requirements can be done using MacPostFactor (MCPF).
MacPostFactor also supports installing OSX versions up to OSX 10.10 Yosemite on older Macs. And a new version that supports installing OSX 10.11 El_Capitan is in the works.

or see the (less readable) official page of the MacPostFactor team :
…in short :
!!! THIS IS FOR (RATHER) EXPERIENCED MAC-USERS ONLY, AND SHOULD NOT BE DONE ON YOUR ‘ONE AND ONLY’ MAC !!!
